Away from the crowds

My sister and brother-in-law have been having a “staycation” this week as their holiday had been cancelled, so they have been exploring sites nearer to home.  I found Darenth Country Park, developed in the grounds of the old asylum hospital, some time ago with Mum, but their visit earlier in the week prompted me to drop in on the way back from doing some shopping for her.  

The land is mainly managed wildflower meadows and pasture, as being enjoyed by these horses who are oblivious to the views over the Darenth Valley toward London.  If you look carefully you can see the busy M25 / A2 road interchange in the middle ground, while there is a glimpse of the city skyline on the horizon.
