Blue Eyes
We had surprise visitors today! My sister Sue and Sam and Phil her (adult) kids. I should have taken a photo of them but didn't think till after they left. We were chatting too much to think of blipping!
They did phone to say they were coming and came to the boat first as we had just arrived here. We had a cuppa and showed them around then later drove to the house as they had never been to see it (we moved there in Sep 2018).
They really liked the house.
Frank made dinner - which had to be all out of the freezer as we weren't prepared for visitors.
My nephew Phil returned from Japan 3 weeks ago and had been in quarantine but is fine - no covid. He's lived in Japan for quite a few years and worked as an animator, he will hopefully find similar work in the UK now. He went off for a little walk and came back with a photo that I have tried in vain to get for ages! The Piebald horse with the bright blue eyes - so I've nicked it for my Blip!
Sam is a vet nurse and takes any small injured animals and birds home for their recovery. At present she has a young pigeon that was scalped by something but is doing really well and by all accounts a happy little bird.
Sue is still struggling with her mobility issue but managed to walk down to the boat with her crutch. It's the first time she's been anywhere since before lockdown so I think it must have done her good. She always gives us tips on art and painting as she is very talented.
I gave them Curly Kale and Rhubarb to take away with them.
Bella was in her element with so many visitors fussing over her.
In other news I went for my eye test to get some new specs for fine close up work. Surprise, surprise the lady said my eyes had deteriorated and I need new varifocals too! I chose the cheapest frames and it was 25% off and the second pair half price. I then thought I would be wise to get reactive lenses.
The price at the end was £264! How did that happen?!!!
They'd better be worth it!
I'm so tired now so it's bed and no book time!
