My life in blips

The Bridge House, Ambleside

It's good to be back in the Lakes for a week's holiday.  Earlier this year, holidays seemed very unlikely, however due to gradual phasing out of lockdown we're here!

I'm not sure if I've ever blipped this iconic scene from the town. Here' s wee bit of history .... According to the National Trust, Bridge House was first owned by the local Braithwaite family. A bridge was constructed first over Stock Beck, to allow access to land on the other side of the river, and the building itself was added in the 17th century as an apple store.
