Rutland Water

We saw friends today!  This is pretty much the first time we have arranged to see anyone socially since March (aside from family).  

We met our friends for a cycle around Rutland Water and then a picnic by the edge of the reservoir.  Our friend have an only child who hasn't been at her pre-school since March, so she has had a pretty lonely time of it and was a little bit over-whelmed by my two, although she did come out of her shell after about 3 hours (literally 10 minutes before we had to leave...) 

Stopped by Granny and Grandpa on the way home, which was lovely and a toy inspection took place with the youngest making sure that everything was still there.  The eldest was delighted that his last lego creation (made many, many months ago) was still there. 

The husbands lock-down beard has come off this evening, sad seeing it go (I think he looks better with it!) 

Today I'm grateful for
Normality creeping back and seeing friends 
Being able to pop and see Granny and Grandpa
Curling up on the sofa when I got home with the boys and reading a story
