Soul-lifting

We took Merlin to the vet late this afternoon as he has been rubbing his eyes, head and neck and nibbling his feet.  The verdict is that he is having an allergic reaction to something - probably pollen.  He now has some (expensive) eye drops and tablets to take away the inflammation and soreness.  I am wondering if his poorly tummy is connected to this allergy too.  We'll monitor what happens and take things from there.

After visiting the vet we popped down to Prinsted for a walk by the sea.  The tide was out and there was a stiff breeze blowing.  It felt so uplifting to fill my lungs with salty sea air and gaze out across the shore to the boats and sky beyond.  The curlews called their wistful cry as we walked.  This picture is of a causeway which runs from the shore to Thorney Island.  I thought it looked particularly interesting with the bright green seaweed stranded along the length of its surface of shingles.  Afterwards it was home to have spinach and feta tart for dinner!
