What do you see!
First glance at the above photo suggests the little boat is tied to the bucket of the digger! You really need to enlarge the picture or look closer.
Today during my lunch hour I had to go to do some filming for a lady who teaches all manner of dance to all manner of groups.
Today sh was working with what some still refer to as "special needs" people! I hate that term and all the other names they use such as vulnerable, disabled etc etc.
GEt a grip they are just folks, ordinary folks. Ok so their brains may be wired up a little odd but they are still folks.
Why do they always have to be huddled together with the only other folk there being their carers?
Whats wrong with bringing other folks in, ones without the labels! so they can all mix together. People need social interaction but with a variety of people and not just "similar" people. It would do some of our surley teenagers good to attend such an activity with these folks, they might learn to appreciate the broader side of humanity!.
When we lived on the island every one mixed in and went to all the ceilidhs, all the dances , all the parties, all the functions and not as a "special group" made to sit in a huddle . I know a lass whose son has Cerabal Palsy and at first she sent him to a "special school" until one day she went there early only to find her laddie stuck in his wheel-chair staring at the wall. He cant, talk, cant walk, cant eat very well yet from a baby she learned to communicate with him through his eyes (the window of the soul) , he can enjoy TV , listening to stories and used to come with us skating! She took him out of the "special" school and after a long fought battle he went to an ordinary school (why they call them ordinary when I see some of the individuals there I dont know) anyhow the boy blossomed and guess what?...so too did all the pupils in that school. The world is a great big melting pot as the song says!
Happy blipping all
