Still in flower
Marsh Fragrant Orchid. Gymnadenia densiflora
This was the best thing I found on this morning’s walk.
This used to be listed in Orchid books as a subspecies of Fragrant Orchid.
But genetic research in recent years has led to it being recognised as a species in its own right.
It is not too common and indeed some of our Orchid books suggest it probably qualifies for the status of Nationally Scarce.
