“Smoke Chaser”

Today the Sheffield Volunteer Fire Brigade unveiled their new vehicle. It was paid for by money raised in the community and will be an important addition to the station.

The brigade has the role of first response to road accidents that occur in the district and on the highway through the mountains. Until now, when they were responding they had to take the fire appliance, leaving none available to fight a fire if that occurs. This truck will go places beyond the capabilities of the big vehicle.

The brigade of volunteers does a great job, fighting fires, attending accidents and raising the money to pay for it all.
