Fantail In Action

When it’s not windy or wet midges fly around the higher reaches of the tall fir trees. Fantails engage in amazing aerobatics to catch them. I love to watch their breathtaking display. Unfortunately they are beyond the range of my zoom lens, but that doesn’t stop me from trying. Today I took several bursts, amounting to about 50 shots. This was the best of them. I cropped the shot to bring the bird closer.
