Haworth Art Gallery and Park.

Feast Day of Saint Joachim and Saint Anne. Jesus's Grandparents.

We had not visited Haworth Art Gallery and Park for many months and it is one of those special beautiful places Paul and me like to re visit through different seasons, to observe the colours of nature changing in the park, and where there are many old tall chestnut trees and yew, pine, oak and ash trees. We saw a squirrel scampering up a knarled tree as we strolled towards the beautiful old house. Situated on the outskirts of Accrington, and with tributes of red poppies planted in the grounds to honour the Accrington Pals, the house is owned by Hyndburn Borough Council. It was built in 1909 in Tudor style by Walter H Brierley a York builder. The impressive house was originally the retirement home of William Haworth and his sister Anne. It houses the largest collection of Tiffany Glass in Europe. The gallery has a large collection of oil paintings and water colours and the tea rooms re open on 29th July. Free admission and free parking..
The gallery and Artist's studio were not open, but we were very blessed to walk the woodland path and visit the rose garden, just before the heavens opened.
