The last of the good weather today I think. Another cracker though and we decided to walk into Takaka rather than get Joe come and fetch us. It's around 9km and a bit of up and down but through some interesting landscapes - the main road as you go along the cycle route through  the delights of Motupipi, then veer off into hilliness and pastures. Everywhere we walked we attracted cattle, all mooing loudly and looking very frisky. Walking also give you an opportunity to be nosey and admire the old villas. I liked this one.

Thanks for the continuing advice re tanties. Only 20 minutes mayhem in the car today apparently, as she was collected from nursery. and she arrived back in fine form. At 22 months she can count to 6, repeat the colours of the rainbow and identify most animals known to child. And just look at the artistry displayed in her first painting! She is a phenomenon of course I'm not biased.
