On yer bike!

Or not in this case.

We had a ride over to Macclesfield today to visit the ‘Superbike factory’.

It was a nice ride, through some gorgeous affluent parts of Cheshire; I enjoyed looking at the the fab houses and gardens.

We were both stunned by just how many bikes there were at the store when we arrived, but (ridiculously imho) you weren’t allowed to touch or sit on any of them. Nor could you speak to an assistant or ask them to start any of the bikes up for you.
If you had questions, you were directed to a touchscreen, which I would say was more unsanitary than speaking to a socially distanced human being, who would actually be able to answer queries.

I know we are still being cautious during the pandemic, so I’m not criticising them for that, but how on Earth is anyone expected to buy something they can’t try for size?
Sure, discourage folks from sitting on every single machine, but if they are particularly interested in the odd one or two (as we were), either give them disposable gloves to wear, or make sure wipes are available to wipe everything down afterwards.
And, to top it all off.....the toilets were closed! :-(
