Survivors

Today my mate's wife  Debbie celebrated getting to the end of her chemo. It's been gruelling. Steve and Debbie have been isolating up in the Lancashire countryside with very little contact with outsides since the beginning of lock down - and that is a LONG time to go without significant human interaction.

Zoom just doesn't cut it in comparison to good old face to face conversations.

They've pulled through, but there is still some time to go before they can start to venture out into society - whatever that is now.

To mark this moment, Debbie released a white dove to symbolise her new freedom - normally, cancer patients ring a big bell on their release from Christies in Manchester.

It was raining, but some close friends gathered round at a safe distance and watched the release of 6 doves. It was a brief but moving moment

Tough times for many reasons for many people.
