Valley Of Desolation

Mrs madwill and I went to Bolton Abbey (near Skipton) for the day. Coffee and cake on arrival then a walk up to the Valley of Desolation and this beautiful waterfall. We then walked all the way from the main cafe to Barden Bridge - stopping on the way at the Strid Tea room where we had a delicious minted lamb pasty and a cup of tea. Back down the other side of the river to the cafe area - which unfortunately had just closed.. so we stopped in Addingham for an ice cream on the way home.

10 miles walked so far today.

Added and extra of The Strid - where water (River Wharfe) is forced through this narrow gap in the rocks.

In theory there was a one way system in operation around the estate  to aid social distancing - but there were a few numpties who chose to ignore it or just couldn’t read, which made the distancing almost impossible.
