Community In Action

We have an attempted land grab running in our local area. Just across the road there is an area of land which has always been used by locals as a footpath to get to the shops, post office, school and bus stops. It is unregistered to any owner but recently a local landlord has put chains across it preventing us from walking along it.

The neighbours have enlisted the support of MP Sir Iain Duncan Smith who is putting in a big effort to help us. Fair play to him - he is being a good constituency MP on this issue.

This morning he came back following a site meeting last week. Today we all walked the footpath and it looks as though the council will be dedicating the land as a public footpath. 

Let's see, but in the meantime well done to those making such a big effort to keep this important bit of local infrastructure. I will keep you updated on events.
