Life in Sunny Dubai

Lunch spot

A new week has begun, and because it is the last day of the Eid holiday, we were able to organise a meet-up with some of the OaSis ladies this morning. (My extra is the group shot). It was GREAT seeing the ladies again and we had a really good chat and catch-up.

As we were in the neighbourhood, G & I decided to have shawarmas from Union Co-op and eat them by the beach like we use to do in the days before Coronavirus changed the world. Sadly, our usual guy wasn't there to make the sandwiches. I hope he hasn't lost his job and been sent back home.

We raced to the beach and found our spot devoid of vehicles, so no trouble getting a parking spot. It is way too hot to sit outside so was a case of in-car dining. I think our local Lebanese restaurant could give the UC a run for their money! I took the opportunity to get a shot of the beach. There were a few people there - swimming even! The water temperature must be perfect, but 43degC outside is just crazy.

Home to chill and cruise into the evening. The ironing finally got done - only a couple of days late! The trip to RAK which was rescheduled from yesterday got scrapped again. We're now watching the live broadcast of the SpaceX capsule bringing Astronauts Bob and Doug back to Earth. It's taking ages for them to open the door!
