Pool day!
I got home after a busy and VERY sweaty nightshift and jumped straight in the shower quickly before dad had to leave to go to work!!
At 9pm last night the government announced that greater Manchester would have to go back into a state of lockdown whereby we are no longer allowed to visit family either in houses or gardens. They announced this via twitter, with no consideration of how it would be implemented. According to the new rules family are not allowed to provide childcare (although it is fine to send your children to nursery/childminders/have a nanny come into your house to care for them) so technically dad was breaking them!!
I honestly think the new lockdown is ridiculous. How can it be fine to go shopping, go to a restaurant, go to a pub... But not be OK to see your parents, socially distanced, in the garden.
We will not be following the new rules, as we have no other options for childcare other than family. If we followed the rules either me or Ben would have to take unpaid leave from work, which we cannot afford to do. I fail to see how it is safer to send your child to a nursery, mixing with multiple households, than it is to have their own grandparents care for them in your own home.
Rant over!!
It was a scorcher of a day today - 33degrees this afternoon, so we had a day in the garden playing with the paddling pool and water pistols!!
