Siblings

My neighbour's daughter's three cats are on holiday in the village for the summer, much to Saffron's dismay. It's bad enough having to fight next door's Zoe for best spot in the garden and under the car, but to have to contend with another three just round the corner is the limit. However they're wonderfully calm, gentle and affectionate and don't react at all to Saffron hissing and snarling at them, so they haven't come to blows yet.
Maybe Saffron will learn from their example that it's possible to coexist with other cats without fighting?
Today was unbearably hot. I'd invited a couple of friends round for a meal but it was really too hot to cook so I just made a selection of salads, and we finished with ice cream.
