Boundary Stone

This is the remaining boundary stone of three that  marks the line between the old townships of Oxspring and Hunshelf. It was put in place in 1756 after agreement was reached to settle the long disputed boundary. 'GB' stands for Godfrey Bosville, who with his predecessors of the same name was Lord of the Manor of Oxspring. It continues to mark the parish boundary to this day.
A chilly, cloudy day with occasional short showers. Like many Mondays, a day for catching up on various chores.
