Boundary Stone
This is the remaining boundary stone of three that marks the line between the old townships of Oxspring and Hunshelf. It was put in place in 1756 after agreement was reached to settle the long disputed boundary. 'GB' stands for Godfrey Bosville, who with his predecessors of the same name was Lord of the Manor of Oxspring. It continues to mark the parish boundary to this day.
A chilly, cloudy day with occasional short showers. Like many Mondays, a day for catching up on various chores. For Grandad Summer School today my ancient Teddy has written his journal of the weekend. (See extra photo of Teddy with his friend Saraswati, a Nepalese Goddess of music and poetry.) Since when have students insisted that the teacher should do the homework as well?
