Three geese
It was a quiet day at home, Gavin is now working three days a week in the office so he left very early this morning to go to work. A good walk this morning, where Xena and I watched the geese at Black Pond.
Tommy leaves today to go with Inca and her family to Greece on holiday, and he will be then flying on to Switzerland from there to join us. I am nervous about him flying but he knows he has to wear a mask for the entire flight. It is a tricky one as the youngsters are socialising with friends again and us parents are therefore more exposed to the possible risk of the virus, but I can understand they do not want to sit at home and put their lives on hold and we cannot turn them away from their home, so we carry on and all be as careful as possible. Unfortunately Inca cannot also join us in Switzerland as she has her second round of Veterinary Medicine university exams soon after she gets back from Greece.
In other news, Adam has been invited and has chosen to spend the next three years of his PhD research in the Griffiths Lab at Cambridge University. Prof Griffiths runs a very good lab and in the area of his interest, he just has to decide in the next couple of weeks on which exact niche area he will be focusing on (good to see so many women in science, who says STEM is a man's world?!)
Luke is up to his eyeballs with studying again for his next round of Chartered Accountancy exams, and although he is coming to Switzerland with us he won't be able to take any time off as his college sessions are on zoom but they are live all day sessions.
