Busy morning out walking with Bramble and her little friend .
Autumnal weather, rainy and windy , quite cool. 
Went to have a look at some camper vans that can be hired as we are hoping to do some wild camping up in the highlands in September. We just wanted to see what was on offer as will most likely try and rent something from around Edingburgh. 
Decided to don my mask and brave the town centre , first time since the start of the pandemic . I only went into one shop as wasn’t that enthusiastic but all seemed calm and well organised . Most people were wearing their masks outside as well as inside , as requested by our director of health Who seems extremely competent and on the ball . We are developing our own local track and trace system so that although our area has more cases than else where we may well do better in the longer term because we are well led . 
Listening to the directors of public health for Liverpool and Lancashire is also heartening as they seem to be ahead of the game , understanding the specific needs for  the cultural mixes of their areas .
