Patience is a virtue

 
For the first time this year I have seen the resident heron on the Allan Water. Maybe he is just back or I have missed him.
 
Well, the expected heatwave for us did not materialise. The temperature made 22C for a brief spell this afternoon.
 
Shocked to read this morning in The Guardian that a part time job vacancy in a gift shop selling perfumed candles in the Lake District attracted over 1,000 applicants, some with Ph.Ds.
I do hope this is not a sign of what is to come.
