The Princess and the Dog

Dear O'H dear and Lovely Tea Jenny,

Today was The Eldest Mini Princess’s 17th birthday. She has been studying for an exam on Saturday and had requested a ‘chilled day.’

We drove to Aberdour. On the way, The Prince was absolutely delighted when we hijacked the car stereo and sang along to our favourite songs from the Jungle Book (ie all of them). I’m sure the only reason he turned down the volume was so he could hear us singing!

We walked along the Fife Coastal path for a couple of hours. It was pouring with rain but Murphy’s excitement at being anywhere new always makes us laugh. He ran about like a complete lunatic and launched himself into the water for a swim, much to the amusement of some American onlookers.

We came home to dry off (especially Murphy) and have birthday cake. Mother India was booked for dinner and as was as lovely as always - lots of small delicious sharing dishes. The food is so good that even The Prince can cope with sharing food there!

EMP had a good day. I feel very lucky that she still wants to spend her birthday with us. She is keen to learn to drive so our present to her was driving lessons - one step closer to having a personal taxi driver to pick us up from the pub!
