A Pandemic Wedding
You never know what you might see on the towpath!
This happy couple - er trio - were walking back along the canal in Skipton from their wedding. There were also the best man, one bridesmaid and a few guests. They happily posed for my Blip :-)
We had set off early this morning so we were back in Skipton at 9.30am.
I managed to get an appointment at Boots optician to to have my new specs adjusted as they kept slipping down my nose, one pair still does so I'll have to make another appt!
This afternoon Frank went into the town centre to join some other musicians to entertain the shoppers on the market. It was safe as it was outdoors and they were well distanced from one another and even further from the shoppers. I was pleased to see so many people wearing masks.
Later I took Bella May up to watch and as soon as she heard the music she started barking and yowling with excitement. I left Frank there and went to Moorey's health shop to get some Oatly Barista as we had run out (coffee is horrible without it) Bella was allowed in the shop which surprised me somewhat. I bought 2 cartons and also 2 cartons of Oatly Cream...
which I then promptly left behind in my little shopping bag at the next shop I went in!
By the time I realised - 2 hours later - the shop was closed. We'll have to pop into Skipton tomorrow in the car as we are now back at the mooring.
Before we left Skipton I queued up for 20 minutes in the heat with my mask on at Bizzy Lizzie's for chips for tea. What a disappointment they were! We have to order vegan ones that are done in veg oil rather than beef fat. They are done in a seperate small fryer. When we unpacked them they were far too overdone to the point of some being dark brown and hard. If it wasn't for Covid I would have taken them back but the thought of queuing for 20 minutes again was not too appealing.
Poor Bella has had an upset tummy today and vomited a couple of times. For a while we have suspected she suffers from motion sickness. She loves being on the boat but on long journeys she sometimes looks sorry for herself and goes to lie in the bedroom which is the opposite end to where the engine is. Also she doesn't like going in the car. This is only the second or third time she's been actually sick. Anyway I went to the pet shop and bought her some ginger based pills which were recommended.
I caught a glimpse of some blue sky today through the clouds...then it was gone.
Have a lovely weekend :-)X
