The Canny Man's - aye canny

I mentioned the Canny Man's on 27 January. What I didn't tell you is that the Canny's is said to have one of the best whisky selections in the whole of Scotland. Founded in 1871 by James Kerr and originally called The Volunteer's Rest, the business has continued down through the generations and continues to offer patrons delights you can not find elsewhere.

The Canny's holds 244 malt whiskies of which 67 emanate from the Glens of Scotland. Then there is the 'Old Grand Reserve'. These are seven whiskies only sold by the bottle and only found at the Canny's. Amongst those, one whisky is 86% proof.

They have four 'Whisky Deluxe Blends'. These are blends which have a minimum 50% more malt.

They stock Irish whiskey: Four.

You may be forgiven for thinking The Canny's does not sell blended whisky. It does. 'We sell only one. The finest of them all. It was first bottled by and blended here by John Kerr in 1871, as it is today from father to son'.
