A grand day out

An early start to the day, by driving to Buttermere. We walked over Scarth gap pass by Haystacks, and dropped over to the Ennerdale Valley. Went round Black Sail pass over Looking Stead, then up Pillar. Returned the same route and shot this waterfall with Great Gable in the background from the bottom of the Ennerdale valley. 

I'd never been over this route, or seen the Black Sail Youth Hostel before, it really was a very special day. 12 miles and 3500 feet of altitude.
