Herdy and Great Stickle

Drove over to Broughton Mills to see some friends from Yorkshire who are staying over there for a week in their camper van. Walked a route that J chose for us, which followed a fell race he was trying to persuade us to have a go at next year. 

It was an interesting recce, took us over Stickle Pike and Great Stickle - two more Birketts - but a really steep route, and very rocky on the descent. Don't think we'll be signing up for that!

Had a superb evening meal in the Blacksmiths Arms in the village, a far cry from standard pub fare, I had Guinea Fowl, with a confit leg, fondant potato and spinach. Yum!
