Sgwarnog: In the Field

By sgwarnog

22-spot

I think this is the first 22-spot ladybird that I've, uhm, spotted. These are very small, about half the size of the 7-spot or Harlequin. I don't think they're especially uncommon, but they're not often casually encountered.

I just wandered along Moorside and back along the top of the fields today. I bumped into the buzzards again, this time on my side of the valley. Not many butterflies, but a few Peacock, Gatekeeper, Meadow Brown, Small Heath, Small White and Speckled Wood.

Half my immediate colleagues were back in work today. My time will come on Wednesday and Thursday this week. That'll be a shock to the system.
