Team Grasshopper has competed in many events in the Backyard Arena this week.  They have earned 3 Gold medals, two Silvers and a Bronze so far.  Today's event, the Slick Wall Climb, was probably the most difficult for them as grasshoppers just aren't built to climb slick surfaces!  Geraldine is seen here using her traversing technique as she had fallen back to the starting line several times when trying to climb straight up.  The grasshoppers were just no match for the spiders, ants and flies who medaled with their fast 90 degree climbing.  After failing despite their best efforts, I overheard Team Grasshopper telling their coach that they should probably skip this event next time.

I am grateful that our 3 day project of emptying, scrubbing, refilling and adding chemicals to balance the water of our hot tub is finally done.  It wouldn't have taken so long but it was too hot to work outside after about 10 AM each day....and I'm not exactly an early riser. ;-)
