Backyard
Another gorgeous morning and we strolled up the hill (much smaller than The Hill) behind our house. It's a magnificent road, the landscape so lush and fertile, everything seems to grow enormous. It's an amazing mixture of fertile gardens (mandarins, kiwi fruit, figs, feijoa) and native bush -these two sister trees are very impressive as is the traditional fence. The magnolias are also astonishing up here but I might wait until Friday to blip them.
As we were puffing up the hill messages zapped through. It was Rainie - she was on the hunt of my ancestor and successfully found Isabella Annie Morrison, daughter of John and the dominant Christine Purves. How amazing is that! And having left Scotland as pretty penniless ag labs, their daughter Isabella and her husband were able to afford a pretty swish headstone - see extra, Rainie's image which I have cheekily included. Isn't Blip wonderful!
The rest of the day was spent romping with Esme who was in fine form.
Other news - I have had my 15 minutes of fame , not too bad either.
