Ludgershall Castle

Considering it's over a thousand years old, this remnants of a castle is in remarkable condition. It's now in the care of English Heritage and was well with the visit today, despite the heat. The parts still standing were the royal chambers, particularly of King John, sometime in the 12th century when it was used as a hunting lodge.

We'd visited Chilbury Chapel - also English Heritage - and interesting in that it was built by the Lord of the Manor to save him and his tenants going a long way to the nearest church. Difficult to find and actually not worth the effort.

We didn't some time along a canal where I saw ONE dragonfly but Pepper had a swim and find a new ball!

Busy and hot day but a pleasantly cool evening.
