Adapted

.... to the heat.   Delosperma cooperi, a hardy (here in Norfolk at least) relative of Mesembryanthemum, native to South Africa but increasingly grown in gardens.   I raised this one from seed last year and it's made a mat about twelve inches across.

A very busy day outside in the heat.  My friends from Shropshire arrived with their transit van this afternoon to dismantle my cold frames and help pack up the bulb collection for transport to Wales.  A big stack of boxes of pots of bulbs, we removed the gritty top dressing to reduce the weight .... and lose the layer of weed seed settled over them!    Assorted other things gathered from around the garden will travel too and I have been lifting snowdrops and other bulbs from the beds and borders.  Luckily on my last visit in February, I had placed split canes, dipped in red paint, in the site of many small items I hoped to rescue.

Very hot work but a much needed sense of something to look forward to back in Wales.   Keeping my emptions in check for now at least.
