Crossing a field of ripe barley - one of many such crop fields on the Rutland/Lincs/Leicestershire plateau.

Each day has been hotter than the past and today was a scorcher. The sheep were enjoying the pond in the extra photo - it’s formed as a sinkhole in the limestone; a stream flows a short way out of it then disappears down the next sinkhole.
