John O’Gaunt

Out on a walk today with U3A we passed under this disused viaduct on the borders of Leicestershire and Rutland. The name is actually a corruption of John of Ghent -14th century prince - son of King Edward III and father of King Henry IV, he was born in Belgium. it was a great walk, fine westher, company and views, and relatively hilly for our part of the world.
