Japanese Garden.
The very hot weather and the fact Clickychick had started considering adding to her fern collection tempted us out. The obvious choice of where to go was Larch Cottage Nurseries at Melkinthorpe. They are run by an ex-pupil of mine and quite unlike any other garden centre I have ever visited.
As part of the business they do landscaping so the visit allows you to wander through various "gardens" which are examples of what he is capable of. Couple that with the fact he grows plants not found in other garden centres and you have a great place for a visit.
First stop was the café where social distancing was ensured by having a number of outdoor seats under parasols. Just what was needed given the temperature. As we wandered around I took a shot of the Japanese garden, always an attraction to my eye. CC found three new ferns so all in all an good visit.
We stopped at the "Ice Cream Farm" but the length of the queue and the odd rain drop put us off. By the time we had drive the 3 miles or so the Kanyl's the heavens had opened.
