Digitalis lutea
A new plant to me. Google tells me its common names are Straw Foxglove or Small Yellow Foxglove. As I was leaving Kanyl's I commented on this flower saying "it looks like a Foxglove but not like any I had ever seen". He confirmed it was a Foxglove, so as something different it had to be today's blip.
It is a native of southern Europe and Northwest Africa, listed as an Herbaceous perennial or sometimes biennial. It would seem to be very tolerant of most conditions of soil, sun/shade but preferring a slightly acid soil of 6pH. Like most foxgloves it is toxic if eaten.
