Sunflowers

An early start for BB and me.  We left TT struggling to find his work mojo.  We headed out to catch a bus into Edinburgh to buy the new school shoes, and I wanted to be in early, before there were many people about.  He couldn’t decide what he wanted in the first shop, so we tried another shop.  He wanted a pair that didn’t meet he regulations, so that was the end of that.  Back to the first shop and he tried on one pair and we bought them. He seemed happy enough – and so he should at that price!  We then had a bit of time to kill, so had a wee wander and went into a couple of shops, though we didn’t buy anything.  Lots of hand sanitiser has been used today.  We had a booking at Dishoom for brunch, which he was very much looking forward to.  It did not disappoint. We then picked up a few things for tea and then got the bus home.  Thankfully it was quiet again.
Once home BB was keen to show his new trainers off to TT.  I decided to go for a walk, BB declined the invitation to join me.
I walked up to the ruins and past the purple field and continued on and on and eventually down to the river.  All very nice until that point.  Most of the walk back along the river path was horrid, as it is very overgrown.  Loads of tall nettles falling into the path and a jungle of Himalayan balsam.  I was glad to get to a point where I didn’t feel in need of a machete.
I got home in time to have the pleasure of cooking tea, and then had a quiet evening with some Killing Eve.
Spotted  these wild flowers, including some sunflowers at the edge of a field on my walk this afternoon.  The purple field is in the background.
