Ardrossan Lighthouse

We had  early start to get to the ferry terminal to check on the ferry position.  Thankfully, TT had received an email overnight, confirming we were booked onto a ferry this morning.  L gave us a lift to Brodick, but he had to leave us, as he and R had a game of golf organised.  We ascertained that we were booked on the 09:45 ferry and then wandered through  a very quiet and empty Brodick to kill some time.  We stopped at the bakers and got bacon (and egg) rolls, which we enjoyed at the shore.  We were keeping an eye out for the ferry and it did eventually appear on the horizon.  It was a relief to get on it.  We had a lovely crossing and sat outside the whole way across.  TT and BB spotted dolphins, but by the time I got my glasses on they were nowhere to be seen.  When we got to Ardrossan we saw the big ferry tied up, and going nowhere.
The drive home was pretty smooth, and the day got hotter and hotter.  Once home I had to pop out for some provisions, as the fridge was pretty empty.  Once we were fed and the washing machine was on, I logged into work, but really only to rearrange  a meeting and to say that I was just going to take the rest of the day off.  I did some cooking and a few chores. Why is it there is always things to do when you come back from holiday.  I also made soup using courgettes, and tea was a pasta sauce containing – courgettes!
Poor BB had missed a training session with his new rugby coach today, so was rather disappointed.  At least there’s another session on Thursday which he should be able to attend.
This is Ardrossan Harbour, just as we were berthing, looking back to Arran.
