AOG: Gull Foraging

On the last but one day of the Alternative Olympic Games, we are at the shore for the gull foraging competition. Here we see Gordon on his way to a much deserved Gold, his patience, skill and experience winning out on a very murky day with a strong sea mist which dropped the temperature by 11C from yesterday.

Despite the poor weather, the car primary car park was full when I arrived at West Runton at 9:20 for a walk with H to Cromer. Despite it being a comparatively chilly 17C, the tourists and their kids were in shorts and t-shirts - I had long trousers and a fleece on given the sea mist!

Day 151 / Full Day 143 of Lockdown / Day 41 of Step 3 (for my record only)
UK deaths up 18 from a revised 41,329 total to 41,347 on the aligned basis across the UK with a 28 day cut off from first testing positive. New daily cases up by 1,129 (technical issued prevented publication on the day). Globally total deaths pass 3/4m. A factory in Northampton that makes sandwiches for M&S has had 292 workers test positive after proactively testing staff given rising cases in the area. Separately a WHO spokesman said 'People should not fear food, or food packaging or processing or delivery of food' (I think I'll still wash grocery packaging for now though). An Imperial College testing programme estimated c6% (3.4m) in England have had the virus to end June. Trials of the new contract tracing app have started. 30.1% of estimated A level grades have been adjusted down by one grade or more, but overall the top grades are up 2.4%.
