AGO - Day 13

In which Team Chipmunk gives up all hope of winning the Gold and, instead, takes to stealing from the Food Cart!

Not the first time Team Chipmunk has been embroiled in an AOG scandal, I'm afraid.  One only has to look back to 2012 and the legendary Olympian Mimsy so see that the fruit never really falls far from the tree.  Team Chipmunk didn't have to compete with anyone back in the day for the Burrowing medal; now they have the rather formidable Team Great Golden Digger who, frankly, have been leaving them in the dust this year.  As a result,Team Chipmunk have gone completely off the rails, lost the thread, given up the ghost...well, you get the idea.  Anyway, as I was watching Team Hummie practicing for tomorrow's Closing Ceremonies, I happened to catch sight of Xena moving furtively towards the Snack Cart.  

I quickly swung the camera around and clicked on the Microphone to ask what she was up to. By this time, her cheeks were suspiciously plumped up and she wasn't even able to get an indignant "chip" out of her mouth.  Instead, she feigned being speechless (as if!) and attempted to cover her mouth.  Still, the scent of peanut was clearly wafting towards me and it didn't take Inspector Clouseau to suss out the situation.  Last seen, the cart was overturned and several of the team members were involved in a noisy brawl.  Shameful!

In other AOG news... Yet another love story emerged in the Motel Mountain Mint, this time involving two Jagged Assassin Bugs.  We were happy to find them so intent on their mission that they weren't trying to grab bees (don't ask).  In the Milkweed Arena, the Pod Relays were handily won by Team Small Milkweed Bug, the junior division.  In truth, they didn't have any real competition since Team Ladybird Beetle had dispatched (ahem) Team Aphid.  And then I was able to catch Medusa of Metallic Green Sweat Bee accepting the Gold for the Pollinating Marathon.
