Exhausted after the run

Like a marathon runner at the end of 26 miles Selina Songsparrow hits the finish line exhausted and disheveled. It was a brutal course today in the heat for the finals of the Birding Biathlon. First time through the course she nearly missed the feeder at the Seed grab , but then picked up speed for the  the Blackberrying part of the course. She is currently in the lead with a great time , but the cardinals are next up  and the youngster Carrie Cardinal may just be able to pull it together to beat her time! If she can pass up the mirror on the Red car that is....
In other news- the heavy hitters were at it this afternoon in the Apple pecking competition. we caught a photo of the Red Belly contestant during his attempt at the Gold.  The standings after the first round are Redbelly in first place, Catbirds in second , and the Waxwings in third. The  final will be held on the last day of competition , but we have confidence in the Woodpeckers with their strong beaks!
