Lady Gaga
Audrey gave us a weekend lie-in until 8am. We never take her 'sleeping in' in the mornings for granted and are well aware that it isn't likely to last. We hear rumours from Toddlerville that 5am starts can be the norm. But for now we are enjoying the extra few hours in bed.
We had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs with fresh orange juice and coffee to start the day. A proper breakfast, sat at the table with Audrey crawling all over the floor while we ate.
It was a miserable drizzly day here in the North West so we decided to take Audrey swimming to Altrincham Baths. Her first dip in a pool.
It was wonderful. We suspected she might it enjoy it but even we weren't prepared for her excited little yelps which started in the changing rooms and didn't stop until we tried to dry her afterwards. A proper water baby.
She looked unbelievably cute in her little pink frilly swimming costume clinging to her Dad. I'm such a big softie, I was overcome with emotion. She really is the most gorgeous little thing I have ever seen.
After swimming, it was M&S for iced buns and tea for us and a spaghetti bolognese for Audrey. She ate so much, swimming clearly gave her an appetite.
And then from nowhere it started. New sounds started coming out of her mouth. 'Ga ga goo goo baba ba ba' and so on. It was so adorable. It even sounded like 'Dada' at times (my husband is claiming it!) We're calling her Lady Gaga, although admittedly she sounds more like Prince Charles!
When we got home, she started crawling backwards along the lounge floor. She can literally slide right across the room in reverse now.
Three development hurdles in one day - swimming, talking and crawling. Atta girl!!!!
