Pavement bonsai

This ancient fragment of a root is on the edge of the pavement.

And suddenly it has sprouted a little trunk, covered in leaves.

There are no trees close by and must be from a tree removed many years ago.

Now if I can dig it up and replant it in a suitable pot.....
