Dilemma

I had a busy morning clearing things away and getting the food ready for our lunch with my brother. The sanctuary closes earlier on Saturdays so I had to leave the house shortly after we'd finished our meal. This time I walked Balou, one of the sanctuary's two St.-Bernard dogs, or rather I had to drag him part of the walk as he plunked himself down a few times and refused to budge for several minutes.

The weather had been sunny before but it already started to cloud over again before I reached the park and when I was finally able to look for a blip after my walk it was completely overcast and the light was already very poor when I reached the bench where I usually see Mr Robin. I didn't see him this time but I did spot a Nuthatch and managed get some photos of him. Unfortunately these shots were not as good as I'd hoped when I looked at them on the laptop and I was faced with the dilemma whether to choose a shot of the Nuthatch that I was not happy with or one of this rather nice looking fungus that was considerably better but that I wasn't as excited about as I was about the Nuthatch shot. As you can see the fungus photo eventually won. I can only hope now that I will get another shot at the Nuthatch on a brighter day.
