A walk in a new place

1. After a stroll in the city last night and our five o'clock rise we sleep late. Having stocked up with breakfast supplies though our morning is warm and snug and the view from our windows makes us smile.

2. We start to start to walk and discover how Norway does national theatre, then how it houses it's Royals. Nice.

3. Stumbling into an area that looks interesting, we have a hot chocolate and start exploring. It's pretty cool. So cool in fact our Guide Book wallpaper guide doesn't know about it. Be warned, when it comes to guide books, looks are very deceptive.

4. We still find the fort though and eventually the new Opera House, which is glorious. Not merely for it's sloping snowy walls that drift into the fjord, but for it's welcoming atmosphere, trusting cloakroom and foh touch screens.

5. Later we head out and have our first bottle of red wine in a month. It's worth the wait, is accompanied by a lovely cheese board and costs more than every bottle of wine I ever bought in 2012. But then, just then, it started to snow.
