Catman Mural

The weather was at its most dyspeptic today. Disagreeable, uncomfortable, in pain. Hardly rained here despite the heavy, dense cloud yet poured torrentially on the way to Whitstable and was miserable and annoying while we were there.

Grey was the predominant colour along the north Kent Coast this afternoon, not aided by a low tide with acres of not very pleasant looking mud and shingle in front of a stony beach.

Lots of people around despite the inclement weather. We seems to move out of the way of every group that came towards us, stepping onto the beach to avoid groups occupying the whole path. Few acknowledged us, most were oblivious. Does anyone else experience this? Are we just being paranoid? Are too many people becoming relaxed?

I was going to blip a shot of the sailing barge Edith May that was moored in the murk outside Whitstable harbour waiting for the tide to rise. However, that shot or one of the foreshore was usurped at the last by this wall mural by Catman, a local anonymous artist is the style of Banksy, local people largely like “his” work and the message is as current now as it was when created in April.
