Quiet night in

Well, we have come to the end of our Clyde cruise for this season. The somewhat sedate cruise, anyway, as the Ards Man is due to come out again to sail the boat home in a couple of weeks. I have to confess that I don’t love the passage home across the north channel of the Irish Sea; the weather is usually wick!

So this year I’m getting a pass and we’re heading back on the ferry!

We’ve spent today lazing about (me) and tidying up (AM). Although I did help a bit with the tidying too, between bursts of reading my PD James book. Once I get home I’ll order the next book for our book club: The Dovekeepers by Alice Hoffman. I’m happy to have the opportunity to read this book. I was fortunate enough to see the sun rise over the Dead Sea from Masada fort about forty years ago. I remember getting up at squeak o’clock (not too difficult as we were in a youth hostel and there was lots of snoring!) and stumbling up the mesa in the dark to be in position at the right time.

So for now it’s a quiet night in the boat for us before our departure by train to Glasgow in the morning. And a final sundowner on the deck. :)
