Deep dark woods

Trekked up Dollar Glen today - a longer and steeper woodland walk than I remembered - and saw evidence of the heavy rain we had a few days ago. Small landslides, fallen trees and scoured river banks. A picnic at the top, followed by welcome coffee and cake at the bottom.

All in all a grey but good Sunday; got a few more tasks done when we got home and then made a tasty dinner.

Extra is the first nigella flower. Sowed the seeds back in March or April and nothing happened. Just the other day I saw the feathery leaves peeping between the other plants, topped with flower buds.
