Conkers

Well, the season’s advancing, it’s going dark earlier and fruit is ripening. Remembering the sticky buds from the start of lockdown, here are some horse chestnuts reaching full size. The trees are suffering with a virus - lots of leaves have gone completely brown - we just hope they’re still getting a long enough growing season to stay alive. I eventually went for a walk in the rain this afternoon - cracking storms and over 40mm in my rain gauge and it’s still spitting - but I’m not going out in the dark to check, there are limits. Enjoyed watching the storms advance on the real-time lightning app.
