Head of the Rangitata

What a special day Bob the bike and I have had. My mate got me access to bike on White Rock Station, above the Rangitata gorge.

Just me, no one else in this huge landscape, pedalling through most of the gorge and then back to the homestead again. There is a surprising lack of snow.

It was absolutely magical. I had a map from the station manager and I tracked my route using an app on my phone. As you can see, visibility was good. :-)

The Rangitata was clear. Where the river narrows near the entrance to the gorge, I spotted a deer track and prints in the sand where they drink.

It was so much fun and the best of days. Now I'd better stretch.
